La la la.
So, birthday. Was quiet. V and I had our own little party the night before, and on Monday I went to work, did my thing, and didn't eat anything except a sandwich because I forgot my wallet. Then V came and picked me up because... I forgot my wallet. :-D She's awfully nice. She dropped me off at

Also, it seems odd to say "I giggled a lot during that documentary about a typeface" but I did. They were all so passionate about it. The one guy who's like "It's a nightmare. A NIGHTMARE." was killing me. It was geeky and fabulous and way more funny than you'd expect.

Tonight, I was going to a potluck, and I decided "What the hell, I'll make some bacon and dip it in chocolate. So I did. It was good! I did candied ginger slices and chunks of chili-spiced dried mango, too. But the bacon was a total hit. I WIN! I do need to work on my chocolate-tempering, though.
The potluck was lovely. I got snuggles for, like, 3 hours, and I got to meet Riffraff, finally, and I don't think I actually ate anything. Hmm... Not that it matters.
Ok, sleepies now.

I am officially unemployed, as of yesterday afternoon. Go me! It was a reasonably mellow last week, although I didn't leave until 5:30 yesterday, as I was trying to get things to an acceptable point so as not to short Naomi out her first week. I had a goodbye lunch at Lola, which was fantastic - mint/feta spread and garlic spread and grilled pita, and then lamb kebabs with caramelized garlic and red wine sauce, with a Greek salad. And raspberry balsamic sorbet. My only issue with the place is that they have those booths that are too close to the table for comfort and the tables are so high that I have to either hoist my boobs onto the table or resign myself to chest compression throughout the meal. The food was worth it, though. Mmmediterranean.
Tonight we went to Gaspare on Phinney Ridge to celebrate Sherry's birhday. It (the restaurant) is on 67th and Greenwood, right next to that place that used to be a vegetarian restaurant and now it's El Chupacabra. I had the Linguine di Gaspare, which was yummy and had tiny Cthulhus in it. Seriously. I was halfway through my cocktail [pureed white peaches and raspberries with sparkling wine], so I got my plate and was like "OMG BABY CTHULHU!" and yes, I did manage to pronounce it, despite being a tiny bit muzzy-headed. The cocktail took the edge off the migraine that I inflicted on myself by wearing a halter top three days in a row. And then afterwards we waited for the bus outside El Chupacabra and I sang along with the music - Pearl Jam, Journey, Beastie Boys.
I think it's time for bed now.

I'm supposed to tell you 5 things you don't know about me.
Officially tagging
I had a little transportation angst today - like not knowing how to get back to the hostel from Beit Dani, which seems to be in an area similar to, say, Rainier. Not really a safe place to be waiting for a bus, I don't think. It took me about 2 hours to walk there from the center of Tel Aviv [busses don't run on Shabbat, and I thought I might need money for a cab later]. That got solved, happily. Kim gave me a ride to the central bus station on Namir/Jabotinsky and I walked back here from there. Almost got hit by a car on the way. I've been waiting for that to happen all week - the walk/don't walk signals don't flash, they just change. Exciting! Especially the way Israelis drive! On the way from Misgav, I totally thought we were going to rear end the car in front of us and then we totally slid into the left lane about 6 inches in front of the car coming up from behind. We were in one of these [a white one]. They seem to be very popular here. They're seriously doofy-looking, and we had 5 people plus all our baggage, and we could have fit another three people into the headspace.
Also, on my walk today, I saw a man who took a handful of cat food out of his pocket and placed it carefully on the sidewalk for one of the stray kittens. It was very sweet.
So anyway, I got smooches today! Not like, full on making out, but nice hello and goodbye kisses from cuties. It's very happy when cute boys say "Hey!" and then pucker up and lean over a row of seats for a hello kiss. Which happened twice. And also when people come up from behind and jump on you. And warm up your hands with theirs. And give you their phone number in case you happen to be in Jerusalem. And also when 2 year olds look at you suspiciously and then decide you're ok and then do a dance for you.

Ok, this keyboard sucks. I'll find an internet cafe and use a computer there, but I wanted to post a quick update.
Misgav was fantastic. I met people and made friends and got phone numbers and invitations to visit, which I unfortunately won't have time to take advantage of this trip. I got a ride back to Tel Aviv last night with Tal, which was nice, since I didn't know how I was going to get here and I was nervous. And yesterday was really lovely. I had the first deep conversation I'd had since I got here - with one of the other people who was on the breakfast team. It was a really interesting conversation for me, in a couple of ways. I'll post more about that later. But then my last dance in the intensive, before we went and cleaned up and had the closing circle, was such a happy happy dance. I love dancing with sturdy people. The guy I was dancing with had given me a shoulder massage the day before and he was just so warm. And I'm exhausted from walking around the city, so I'm going to totally fail to describe this accurately, but I think I like him for the same reason I like Tal, which is that he's sturdy, he's not afraid to dance with me, and he can take my weight and encourages me to give it. So there's no fear on either side, and god does that make me happy. No fear, bitches!
Anyway, I didn't get to say goodbye to him before we left. I was a little sad about that, because I didn't know if he was coming to any more of the festival. And then today I was sitting on the beach with Mira [I think that's how it's spelled], my hostel roommate, and he comes walking up to me and gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I still don't know his name, though. :)
I need to go get something to drink and take a nap. And then maybe do some laundry. More later.
Also, there was no loud sex in Misgav.
